From coast to coast to coast, tens of thousands of people took to the streets in over 70 communities across Canada to Draw the Line for People, Peace and the Planet. Globally, we were part of 600+ actions in 85+ countries drawing an urgent line for life, for the people and for the planet.
In Victoria, as many as 1000 people marched. We contributed to something historic. We joined a cross-movement coalition that united climate activists with Indigenous leaders, connected migrant justice organizers with Palestine solidarity advocates, and brought together communities demanding economic justice.

Together, we sent an unmistakable message to Prime Minister Carney and Premier David Eby: Stop subsidizing fossil fuels like fracked gas. Stop enriching billionaires. Tax the rich, build homes for all, and fund quality services for our communities.
The energy you created was heard throughout the country. Major outlets including CBC, Global News, and CTV News and Canadian Press covered our actions, amplifying our demands.
When we organize together across movements, we are unstoppable. We can build a just and safe future for all of us. And to change everything, we need everyone. Join us!

The Victoria Draw The Line march was organized by an ad hoc group, including youth, members of Common Horizon Victoria, Seniors for Climate, and Climate Justice Victoria.
Our grassroots group organizes on Lekwungen and W̱SÁNEĆ lands. We look to and work with the Indigenous communities leading the climate justice movement on the front lines for guidance and leadership.
